Fleet Management: Vendor Management

The management of fleet management services is intricately tied with the management of vendors. To this end, the LeaseWave® Fleet fleet management software system has extensive and comprehensive vendor management capabilities. Vendors can be categorized using several, user-defined classifications, thereby facilitating easy search capabilities. Moreover, several key vendor attributes, ranging from discount data to pay-to information, can be meticulously tracked in the fleet management system.

The LeaseWave® Fleet fleet management system also allows for the replication of complex vendor relationships. Much like the customer entity, a vendor can be configured to be a child of an existing parent-vendor. In such an instance, a child-vendor can inherit, among other things, the pay-to attributes of its parent. Consequently, any payable entry generated against the child will automatically follow the pay-to business rules of its parent. Moreover, a change in the pay-to rules governing the parent would automatically affect the child. In other instances, even if a vendor is set up to be a child, it can be configured to have its own pay-to attributes. This flexibility allows for ease in the management of the complex and sometimes disorganized relationships that nationalized vendors have with their branches and franchisees.

  • Create and manage fleet management vendors through the system’s sophisticated vendor management functionality
  • Classify a vendor as belonging to one or more user-defined categories to allow for easy search and reporting capabilities
  • Clone vendors from existing vendors to allow for quick data entry
  • Manage parenting relationships between vendors, allowing one vendor to be a child of another
  • Flexibly decide whether or not a child vendor should inherit the attributes of its parent
  • Manage the complex structures of nationalized vendors that have various, often inconsistent, relationships with their branches and franchisees
